FREEMOTION’S GLOBAL EXPANSION CONTINUES WITH THE APPOINTMENT OF LEOPOLDO TORRES AS SALES DIRECTOR FOR LATIN AMERICA

US-based fitness equipment manufacturer, Freemotion Fitness, has appointed Leopoldo Torres as Sales Director for Latin America, as it continues to drive forward its global expansion strategy.

Since entering the health and fitness industry in 2005 at Sport City, Leopoldo has amassed a wealth of experience in senior roles, most recently as CEO of Bodytech Colombia, and will now be responsible for strengthening and enhancing the Freemotion brand across Latin America.

Speaking on Leopoldo’s appointment, Chris McGill, Vice President of Global Sales at Freemotion, said: “Our intent is to become the leading fitness brand in this region. We’re delighted to have Leopoldo on board and believe he has all the tools and experience necessary to develop and execute a successful strategy for Latin America, contributing to our continued and fast-paced worldwide growth.”

Leopoldo commented: “It’s great to have joined Freemotion at such an exciting and pivotal time in the company’s journey. The future is exciting for Freemotion in Latin America. There are approximately 65,000 clubs across Latin America and almost 20 million Latin Americans are members of a health club so the opportunity is incredible. I am looking forward to taking Freemotion to a much wider audience and using all of my experience to make it happen.”

Prior to his arrival at Freemotion, Leopoldo had worked for a number of high-profile companies. As Commercial Director for BH Fitness, he successfully implemented strategies across all sales departments; an ability further demonstrated during his time as Technogym’s Commercial Director for Mexico, where he was instrumental in generating over seven million dollars in revenue in 2011. Later, as an Executive Director at Amer Sports Corporation, he was in charge of growing the Precor brand in Latin America while developing a successful dealer and team network; experience he will no doubt draw upon in his new role at Freemotion.

Alongside Leopoldo, Freemotion has made several other moves to strengthen its global team as it looks to expand in international markets. Apostolos Seintis was recently appointed as Sales Director for Europe. Plans are also in the pipeline to hire a Sales Director for the UK. With much activity taking place at Freemotion, it’s definitely a company that’s worth keeping an eye on.
